Green Tip: Recycle Your Cell Phone

2007-07-25-lotsofcellphones.jpg

Get rid of it, but don't throw it in the trash. Cell phones are the perfect example of e-waste. Most of us, go through them like candy. If it's not broken, we want something that has a better feature or just looks nicer. What happens to our old phones? Well, we hope you donate them to your favorite local charity, but just in case you need some inspiration, we've found a few ideas to help those homes plagued with old cell phone clutter.

Locally:
Drop them off at your local Best Buy kiosk.

On the web:
Recycle for Breast Cancer will send you a free mailing label.

For profit:
Cell For Cash will pay you for your old phones, but be forewarned...not much (our current phone was priced at $22.)

You can also bring them to your local police department, where they give them to domestic violence victims so they can call 911 if they are in danger.

Bring old phones to oxfam if you're in the uk! Not sure about the chargers and adapters tho.
